Two arrested on suspicion of obstruction

CHICO — Chico police officers arrested two people Sunday near Speedway Gas at Cohasset and Pillsbury roads.

According to a press release issued Monday by the Chico Police Department, an officer was responding to disturbance call but the individual accused had left upon their arrival.

While exiting the business, a member of the public approached the officer and pointed out a woman next to a vehicle near the gas pumps who may have been intoxicated. The officer identified the woman as Elora Hubbard, 31, of Chico.

The release claimed the officer was attempting to provide Hubbard a ride home when a second individual identified as Harrison Pratt, 40, of Chico, approached the situation and tried to intervene.

The officer allegedly told Pratt to back up and proceeded to push him back before arresting him on suspicion of obstruction and delaying. Hubbard tried to pull the officer off of Pratt and she was subsequently detained as well.

Both Hubbard and Pratt were arrested on suspicion of delaying, resisting or obstructing an officer.
