Ron Serena, Mike Phillips score in Fall Classic | Tee to Green

The results are in for the Canyon Oaks Men’s Fall Classic and the team of Ron Serena and Mike Phillips were the big winners, taking home the biggest slab of bacon in the first flight, along with their team buyout bonus, with a net score of 103.4.

The format, as noted last week, in the two-man tournament, was 9 holes alternate shot, 9 holes scramble and 9 holes best-ball.

The Canyon Oaks Women’s Golf Club held a three-player “Turkey Trot” scramble format for its weekly game.

The Canyon Oaks Senior Men’s Club held a Turkey Trot, 4-man, two best-ball, shamble format for its November sweeps tournament.

Table Mountain Golf Course

The Table Mountain Men’s Golf Club held a two-man, one best-ball format for its recent tournament. Eighty-two players participated, necessitating the need for four flights.

First flight: 1, Guy Latouche and Garrett Moon, 56; 2, Chuck Conner and Marcus Walberg, 57; 3, Alonzo Jones and Joey Lauer, 58. Second flight: 1, Joseph Lombardi and Hardeep Mundh, 59; 2, Peter Huru and Vince Somano, 61, card-off; 3, Stuart Avrit and Johnny Smith, 61.

All of the Table Mountain Men’s Club Tournaments are Player-of-the-Year point events and all players earn points, even just for participating.

The Table Mountain Women’s Golf Club counted the even holes for its weekly outing, subtracting one-half a player’s handicap. Sally Stemen was low gross on the day shooting 84. Liz Hofeling was one under par for a 71 and low net.

The Butte Creek Women’s Golf Club held its annual Turkey Shoot tournament last week.

First flight: 1, Sherri Kimmelshue, 71; 2, Sheila McMurphy, 74; 3, Sandy Fortino, 76 via a card-off over both Irma Jenkins and Jeannie Stone. Second flight: 1, Karen Beckman, 71; 2, Joye Smith, 77; 3, Janet Alves, 79.

Bidwell Park Golf Course

The Bidwell Park Women’s Golf Club held a “Turkey Bowl” format for its week game, wherein players could strikeout any three connecting holes if one of the holes included a par three. Kelly MacKinnon was low gross on the day in the first flight with a score of 90.

Junior Golf

Amy Na, a 15-year-old sophomore at Pleasant Valley High School, qualified for the CIF Girls High School State Championship. Na finished 24th, shooting a four-over par score of 76 at Poppy Hills Golf Course. Congratulations!
