Pleasant Valley top seed, Chico High second in Division II football playoffs

Both Pleasant Valley and Chico High secured the top two seeds in the Northern Section Division-II football playoffs when the official seedings were released Saturday morning.

Pleasant Valley and Chico High both received first round byes as the top two seeds.

Eastern Athletic League champion Pleasant Valley (7-3) will play November 19 at home against either fourth-seeded Foothill or fifth-seeded Shasta. Foothill and Shasta face off in the first round of playoffs on Friday.

Chico High (7-3) finished second in the EAL and will play the winner of Enterprise and Las Plumas on November 19, who play Friday.

The D-II Northern Section Championship will be held on November 27 at the highest seed left in the playoffs.

Bobcats claim second seed in Division III

Butte View League champion Sutter (7-1) claimed the top spot in Division III and will host Central Valley (4-6) on Friday night.

Sacramento Valley League champion Paradise (7-1) will host the No. 7 Lassen High (2-7) on Friday night.

Gridley (3-5) the No. 4 seed in D-III will host Wheatland (2-7) on Friday night, while the No. 6 seed in D-III Orland (4-6) will host West Valley.

Durham gains fourth seed in Division IV

In Division IV playoffs, University Prep (10-0) is the No. 1 seed and will host Winters (4-6) on Friday night.

No. 4 seed Durham (5-4) will play host to Anderson (6-3) while the third seed Williams High (8-2) will play host to 3-6 East Nicholas.

Pierce (7-3) is the second seed and will play host to Colusa (7-3) on Friday night.

Los Molinos gains second seed in Division V

The Division V Northern Section playoffs will start Friday night when Biggs (4-3) hosts Maxwell (5-5). The winner of that game will face top seed Fall River (9-0) on November 19.

The other quarterfinal game on Friday night will be Modoc (6-3) at Etna (3-5).

The winner of that game will travel on November 12 to take on Los Molinos (6-2).

All section playoff games in Divisions II-V will be held at 7 p.m.
