Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Our Town, was coveted by both Leonard Bernstein and Aaron Copland for operatic treatment. Wilder turned both gentlemen down. Now, sixty-eight years later (and thirty years after Wilder’s death) the play has been made into an operatic masterpiece with music by Ned Rorem and a libretto by J. D. McClatchy. Come and revisit the nostalgia of the early 20th century fictional town, Grover’s Corner, set to glorious music.
